The anthology’s contribution to worldwide understanding of Turks and Turkey was acknowledged by Daughters of Ataturk, the international public relations organization devoted to promoting Turkish heritage, which bestowed its 2006 Women of Distinction on the Expat Harem editors.
SCHOLARSHIP
Expat Harem has been tapped for education in America, Canada, France and Taiwan. Including a culture guide for 10,000 secondary school teachers produced by World & I, the text has been employed by continuing education, graduate, university, secondary and primary school courses ranging from English language to art and history, Turkish language to travel writing.
